Fun and Relaxed New Forest Wedding

I’d never been to the New Forest until I drove up to film Emily and Ben’s fun and relaxed wedding there a couple of weeks ago. I’d heard that it’s a stunning part of the world and I can confirm (for those that have not been there) that the rumors are true.

I’d never been to the New Forest until I drove up to film Emily and Ben’s fun and relaxed wedding there a couple of weeks ago. I’d heard that it’s a stunning part of the world and I can confirm (for those that have not been there) that the rumors are true.

Emily and Ben’s country fete inspired wedding had a DIY vibe with lots of hand made games, table numbers, bunting and even jam made by family members for the afternoon cream tea.

DIY Wedding

DIY Wedding

I worked alongside the lovely Carrie Lavers (photographer) on the day. She got all the super cool dark and moody still shots while I got all the giggles and fun and games. Emily and Ben booked us for exactly that reason, the ying and yang media team.

And what a cracking idea eh? Why would you want your wedding film to look like your photos?

It makes perfect sense to get two different styles, two different versions of your wedding from two different creative outlooks.

Relaxed Wedding

Relaxed Wedding

A vintage bus, a retro VW Beetle were the non- traditional carriages to deliver everyone to the reception venue. Once there, they had lawn games, hay bales and bunting like EVERYWHERE! A proper English Country Fete inspired wedding.

Delish afternoon tea and cake was served as the wedding breakfast with home made jam before the speeches and Eat The Street - pop up street food feed us all some Lebanese goodness after dark.

All in all, their wedding was very enjoyable to shoot. I love it when the photographer and I work well together (tick), the details and visuals have been well thought out (tick) and the couple are just simply lovely, relaxed and totally in giddy love after officialising their love for each on their wedding day (massive tick)

I knew their wedding was going to be packed full of fun when Emily, arm in arm, with her dad literally danced down the aisle.

See for your self by watching their teaser trailer below. It’s 30 seconds of happiness.

Take a break from the monotony and routine of life and watch it now. Go on, it’ll put a smile on your face!

Meanwhile, I’ll be working on my wedding film backlog but this wedding is one that I can’t wait to edit and re-live again.

Dartington Hall Wedding

Dartington Hall is a dream to shoot weddings at. It’s one of my favourite Devon wedding venues because everywhere you look, at any time of year, there are beautiful things to see. Wild flowers and manicured hedges complement the grandeur of the hall itself.

Dartington Hall Wedding

Louise and Ryan

I don’t follow a formula for my wedding films and instead I edit in a way that reflects my couples personalities. I chose to create Louise and Ryan a smooth and romantic sneak peak, to match the smooth soulful sounds of their chosen music.

Louise and Ryan had the soulful sounds of Cameron Bloomfield on the keys and singing as guests arrived before their wedding ceremony. I managed to film the first part of one of his songs and it was an obvious choice to use the live audio recording for their sneak peak video.

Soulful Music

Watch Louise and Ryan’s wedding film teaser trailer below and make sure you watch with sound. Cameron’s stunning singing complements the love between the couple and the beautiful grounds of Dartington Hall, which I consider one of Devon’s best wedding venues.

(Absolutely not biased or swayed in any way by the scrummy food I always get fed while filming weddings there!)

Upton Barn, Devon Wedding Venue

A fun filled wedding film at the beautiful Upton Barn and Walled Garden in Devon with the ever smiling Zoe & Dan

It was my first time filming a wedding at Upton Barn and I’ve fallen in love with the place. The roses in the walled garden were plentiful and beautifully scented, as was the lavender lining the aisle of the outdoor ceremony. Festoon lights and firepits lit the outdoor area once the sun went down while the fabulous Ferrantes band got the party started.

about upton barn wedding venue

Upton Barn is located in Cullompton, just 30 minutes drive from Exeter. Surrounded by stunning Devonshire countryside, you feel at home as soon as you arrive even though the barn and the location itself feels exclusive. Stay onsite, enjoy their food, take beautiful pictures next to the lake and in the walled garden.

It’s easy to see why this is an award winning wedding venue in Devon and it’s clear that Zoe and Dan had no regrets in choosing this beautiful location for their special day.

upton barn wedding video

Zoe and Dan booked me to film their wedding because they fell in love with the relaxed happy film I did for Nat and Jon way back in 2017. Even though they live in the same town as me, we’d never met and weirdly, for such a small town, don’t have any mutual friends. So these two booked me from a good old google search. No referrals or recommendations, purely on the back of the films on my website and testimonials from past clients.

these two didn’t stop laughing all day

Zoe and Dan did not stop smiling ALL day, they were so relaxed and happy and their first dance was an epic spinning sing-a-long that I wish I could’ve let loose and joined in the dancing (had I not been too busy filming all the fun).

So here it is, their fun filled wedding teaser film - a sneak peak at the fabulous Upton Barn and Walled Gardens, Devon. I like to produce teaser videos which are great for couples to share on social media.

Take a look at the longer wedding film I made for the wonderful Zoe & Dan.

I know it’s been a good wedding when I re-watch all of the footage I filmed and I can’t find a single shot of the bride or groom not smiling.

Zoe and Dan’s was a great wedding.

The Horn of Plenty Wedding Venue

It was my first time filming a wedding at and even just visiting The Horn of Plenty, Tavistock and hopefully it won’t be the last. Emily & Lee chose their wedding venue well! With it's award winning two Rosette restaurant and charming rooms, it’s a quintessentially English hideaway tucked away on the edge of Dartmoor.

Emily & Lee’s Stunning Devon Wedding

It was my first time filming a wedding at and even just visiting The Horn of Plenty, Tavistock and hopefully it won’t be the last. I’ve fallen in love with the place!

I think it's safe to say that wedding videography was not top on Emily and Lee's priority list when they started planning their wedding. They are officially my latest booking to date. Emily first emailed me on the Tuesday before their wedding on the Saturday! Talk about cutting it fine! Smart move by Emily because not having a wedding film is up there as one of newlyweds biggest regrets.

Dartmoor Devon Wedding Videography

About The Horn of Plenty

With its award winning two Rosette restaurant and charming rooms, it’s a quintessentially English hideaway tucked away on the edge of Dartmoor with beautiful gardens. The views of the Tamar Valley are an amazing backdrop for wedding photos and video clips. If you’re a fan of food then you will seriously enjoy the food they can prepare for your special day.

I might book myself in for a winter getaway to cosy up by the fire and drink brandy hot chocolates. Bliss.

The Wedding Day

On the day, I arrived nice and early at the hotel (I always do, I hate rushing and I get anxious about traffic making me late) so I could get some shots of the grounds and have a look around and scout locations and gorgeous back-drops for the filming of couples moments.

Heather from Church Park Flowers was setting up her fabulous floral arch and the room smelt amazing. She had weaved stocks and sweet peas into the display which I absolutely loved so much that the very next day I bought some for my own home. Give me a room fragranced by flowers over those funny melting wax thingys any day.

Emily's bridal prep was the most chilled out I’ve ever witnessed with her brewing up and pouring tea for everyone while her bridesmaids got their hair and make up done.

Devon Wedding Film

Lee and his dad got shirts and ties and cuff-links on and prepared to greet the guests before the ceremony.

Emily’s brother played an acoustic guitar version of A Thousand Years as Emily walked down the aisle with her dad and then played Ed Sheeran’s Perfect as the newly wed Mr and Mrs Russell-Clark exited the ceremony. Everyone spilled out on the lawn for group photos, cocktails and hanging out until it was time for speeches.

Nick Williams was their photographer for the day and as this wasn’t his first time at The Horn of Plenty, he knew all of the good spots for photos. So he took us all on a whistle stop tour of the gardens, quickly (because dark clouds were looming) getting beautiful snaps along the way.

After food and speeches, Conscious Club set up and started the party. They played an acoustic version of The Chainsmokers - Something Just Like This for Emily & Lee’s first dance and then kept everyone on the dance floor playing modern versions of funk, soul and pop hits for their first set before evening food and sparklers.

Congratulations Emily and Lee!

Stunning Autumn Devon Wedding Film

Karina and Ryan’s wedding was at the picturesque Rockbeare Manor just outside Exeter in Devon. It was October and the leaves were beginning to drop and turn orangey brown. The wind was blowing the trees and the fires were roaring inside Rockbeare.

Rockbeare Wedding Videography Exeter Devon

Karina and Ryan didn’t ask me to film their wedding. It was Karina’s step mum Rachel who did her research and contacted me. She told me she was impressed by my reviews first and then fell in love with my films. She invited me to her house to meet K&R and chat things through. And I am so glad she did.

It was one of those really hot days in the infamous hot summer of 2018. Rachel put the kettle on (how very English, when it’s hot, have a cuppa to cool down!) while we chatted colour themes, wedding bands and favourite music. They made me feel so welcome and instantly part of the family. I kept my fingers crossed that they’d book me because I knew they were my perfect friendly and bubbly couple. So when they said yes to me, I left with a little celebratory fist pump, knowing that Karina & Ryan and their family and friends were going to be amazing fun on the day and awesome to shoot.

And they were.

They brought all the awesome.

Rockbeare Manor Exeter Devon

Karina and Ryan’s wedding was at the picturesque Rockbeare Manor just outside Exeter in Devon. It was October and the leaves were beginning to drop and turn orangey brown. The wind was blowing the trees and the fires were roaring inside Rockbeare. When I arrived, Everyone was getting ready in the house. Karina and her girls upstairs in the bridal suite and Ryan and his grooms men downstairs in the billiard room. The boys were playing pool while I captured the lovely moment of Ryan helping his son Ethan get in his suit and do his tie.

I was a pleasure to work alongside Helen Court Photography and she had Sarah Bradley lending a hand for the ceremony. We were the all girl dream team, I really enjoyed hanging out with those two fantastic female photographers.

Before the ceremony I captured some magical moments of emotion that only happen at weddings; John seeing Karina for the first time and totally ruining her make up because of her tears! (I’m kidding, it didn’t ruin the make-up, she looked stunning, it’s just a figure of speech). And Ryan giving Gail a surprise gift and a note which got her going too, all the tears and we hadn’t even started the ceremony yet.

The ceremony was stunning, full of giggles and tears and then everyone grabbed a drink and piled outside for group photos on the lawn.

The wedding breakfast was served and Karina had positioned and lit Yankee Candles EVERYWHERE and each corner smelt different of something delicious. Jamie Mathias set up and played all the sing-along’s during dinner (including my favourite, Wonderwall)

Rockbeare Manor Wedding Videography, Exeter, Devon

After the speeches they had the longest sparkler tunnel I’ve ever seen and then it was time for cutting the cake picture above made by Mad Cakes and their first dance as Mr & Mrs Keyte. After the smoochy slow Kodaline first dance, the band dropped Bob Marley and EVERYONE hit the floor and started grooving. The dancing is easily my favourite bit. I love all the getting on the dancefloor and capturing everyone letting their hair down to the band and I-Rock rocked it!

When their films were ready, I hand delivered to their house and was invited in for a cuppa and catch up. They were over the moon with their films which means to world to me. It sounds so cliched, but I do it for the emotion. I pour my heart and soul into making my wedding films personal and emotive for my couples. Of course I’m ultimately running a business, and the money I earn pays my mortgage and fills my fridge with fizz and food. But I honestly thrive off the reactions I get to my films, I love capturing all the special moments that couples miss and creating an everlasting memory for them to watch and re-watch again and again.

SeaSide Fun at Paignton Pier Wedding

All the fun of the fair at this seaside Devon wedding. Lauren and Chris’s late September wedding was at the Palace Hotel, Paignton which just so happens to be a stones (or a bouquet) throw away from the sea front and the fabulous Paignton Pier.

Lauren and Chris’s late September wedding was at the Palace Hotel, Paignton which just so happens to be a stones (or a bouquet) throw away from the sea front and the fabulous Paignton Pier.

I live in Devon and I do LOVE to shoot local weddings and show off what this county I call home has to offer. So for Devon wedding videography, I’m your girl!

Paignton is a 20 min drive from where I live and I know the Pier well so when I found out I could use the lights and sounds of the amusements in a wedding film I was super excited. I don’t really stage couples, instead I like to drop my couples into interesting surroundings and film what unfolds. So when we took Lauren & Chris to the amusements, I just has to give them a nudge toward Mario Kart and the air hockey table and then they did the rest. They just messed about and had a laugh and hopefully forgot that I was there! (which is the plan btw)

Mel from Memories and Milestones Photography was my creative partner for the day and we smashed it, we worked brilliantly together, tag teaming on the portraits and group shoots and our styles complimented each other well. I’d love to work with you again Mel!

The evening music was provided by Bespoke DJ and a pop up casino by Casino Select got everyone playing Black Jack and Roulette, even i put my camera down to play a couple hands of cards, beating the dealer twice! Must’ve been my lucky night.

Watch the wedding highlights I created for Lauren and Chris below and do contact me with any questions about my wedding film services

Enjoy

Festival but emotive wedding - yes you can have both.....

Fun, relaxed and emotive wedding in the heart of Devon. Festival vibes all around for this Devon wedding film

When Louise and Mark told me they were having a vintage bus drive guests from the church to the party and that their friend was taking his guitar to sing some songs on the way and that they wanted me on the bus to film all the fun I knew this wedding was gonna be a good’un.

The same guitar playing and song singer friend then told me that when it got dark he would do some fire dancing. ching ching, Jackpot.

I was lucky enough to work with Anna & Mike from the exceptional Luna Weddings and I think we made a pretty good team. Especially when Anna and I were both cramming into corners of the bus to get the best wide shots.

This wedding had it all. Louise looked stunning in her vintage inspired knee length dress. Mark looked sharp with his freshly trimmed and groomed beard. The band (The Shrine) were rocking and the relaxed Double Locks venue was beautifully dressed by Blue Fizz Events.

But it’s not just about the party. As you’ll see from their highlights film below, it was a magical ceremony too at St James church, Teignmouth. Their nearest and dearest were hanging out with Mark, sinking a pint or two to calm the nerves at the White Ensign opposite the church before the ceremony.

When the dancing started, it never stopped. These guys, their friends and family knew how to party but don’t take my word for it, see for yourself by watching the wedding highlights I captured for them below

This one is special and one of my favourites.

And for a different spin on things, see below their highlights for a 60 second hip-hop version I did for Instagram. For updates and some of my more creative work follow me on Instagram here

Cathedral Wedding / Vineyard Wedding Devon

When I met Laura and Toby they told me that they were nervous about having a videographer at their wedding. I knew I had to keep my camera out of their faces and give them a wide berth to keep them relaxed and comfortable on their big day. And when I say big, I mean EPIC!

My style of filming weddings is natural, discrete and unobtrusive. I choose to film in this way so that my couples can relax and enjoy their day without feeling posed and awkward. I shoot how I personally would like to be captured. Real un-staged emotion is the key.

When I met Laura and Toby they told me that they were nervous about having a videographer at their wedding. I knew I had to keep my camera out of their faces and give them a wide berth to keep them relaxed and comfortable on their big day. And when I say big, I mean EPIC!

Wedding Ceremony at Exeter Cathedral

The ceremony was at the truly magnificent Exeter Cathedral with it’s stunning ceilings and gothic architecture. The acoustics were amazing which meant that when the choir sang (which was made up of their family members and conducted by Laura’s uncle) it gave me goose bumps.

Laura’s grandad who was a member of the clergy at the Cathedral read the ring exchange and vows.

In and amongst all of this grandeur were Laura and Toby who looked so relaxed and happy together. Me and the fantastic photographer Alex Toze were there capturing and documenting all of the magical moments.

Reception at Froginwell Vineyard

After the ceremony, a vintage red bus took the guests to Froginwell Vineyard on the outskirts of Exeter. It was my first time at the venue and hopefully not my last. Just inside the entrance of the barn was a beautifully restored traction engine that created a stunning backdrop for the reception space.

Sandwich fingers and mini scones and clotted cream were supplied and served by Astridges caterers as well as fizz and Devon Red Cider.

Below are their highlights - a short and sweet snapshot of their day. Get in touch to find out more about my wedding videography services

Spanish Barn, Torre Abbey Devon Wedding

The Spanish Barn is a Grade I listed building and ‘Ancient Scheduled Monument’. It has high beamed ceilings and parquet flooring. The grounds include The Palm House - a massive greenhouse with ponds, palms, cacti and colourful flowers - perfect for some truly beautiful wedding photos for Naomi & Oliver.

Like many of my bookings, Naomi contacted me about filming her wedding because she had seen one of my wedding highlight films on Facebook. A friend of a friend type thing, she went to primary school with the groom and saw him share the video.

She runs a dance school in London, The Garland Dance Academy and when she mentioned that her first dance was going to end on Dubstep, I just knew I had to get the booking.

Naomi and Oliver live in London with their cheeky son Wilf, but Naomi grew up in the pretty village of Stokeinteignhead, Devon and so they decided to host their wedding in the village of her childhood home.

Naomi & Olivers Wedding

The ceremony was at the picturesque church in the centre of Stokeinteignhead. Before the ceremony I met Oliver and his groomsmen in the pub down the road, The Church House Inn, where they were sipping on halves of Devon cider and greeting guests.

After the ceremony, Meg from Mimosa photography took them to Thatchers Rock to get some dramatic snaps of them with the sea and the rock in the background before heading on to Torre Abbey for the reception.

They had a nautical theme with anchor braces and bowties for the boys and gorgeous pale blue dresses for the girls. Naomi and her mum handmade the decorations in the Spanish barn and they had various outdoor lawn games including giant jenga, croquet and a tug of war rope.

Drinks were supplied by the super cool Beetle Juice who literally drove up and parked outside the Spanish Barn, popped the roof and started serving cocktails. Shame I was driving and didn’t get to try any!

But my favourite bit was taking them into the stunning tropical palm gardens of Torre Abbey. The Palm gardens is a massive greenhouse with ponds, palms, cacti and colourful flowers which was perfect for their couples shoot.

You can see all of this for yourself by looking through some stills from the wedding video I had the pleasure to film. Enjoy….

Devon Wedding - Seaside Church & stunning views evening

Last year, when an email dropped in my inbox via the contact form on my website from Danielle and Adam, we decided to meet at the Clipper cafe, Shaldon for a chat. I had no connection to these two, they were complete strangers but after the first 2 minutes, before we’d even ordered the cake, I knew we would get along.

Devon seaside church wedding

As a wedding professional, most of my work is through referrals: friends of friends, guests at previous weddings or old school friends that follow me on Facebook. So when random couples get in touch I’m always excited (and a little nervous) to meet them.

Danielle is a bubbly chatty beaut of a girl and Adam is funny and welcoming. We chatted about how Adams parents had a holiday home in Shaldon and that they both had been visiting Shaldon for many years as a couple and fell in love the place, so Shaldon was the obvious place for them to get married.

We discussed what they expected from wedding videography. They said that they liked my relaxed candid style, that they didn’t want to be staged or made to feel awkward. My dream couple really! I think it’s important to really get to know my couples so that I can shot and edit in a style that’s personal to them. So when I found out that Adam loves his trips to Ibiza and that they both loved beer pong and Jagerbombs, I knew I needed a party vibe for their wedding film.

The ceremony was at St Peters church, Shaldon which is right on the river beach at the end of Shaldon bridge. The reception at Teignmouth Golf Club which has the most AMAZING views of the valley of Teignmouth and across the river Teign to Shaldon. From the golf club, you could even see the church they were married.

Below are some stills from their film and at the bottom is a link to their party vibe, Ibiza inspired highlights.

Enjoy! And get in touch if you’re getting married and want a highly personal wedding film, just like theirs below…..

barons hill farm wedding venue

I had never been to Barons Hill farm before and I wasn’t disappointed. It is an incredibly beautiful rustic farm venue in the heart of the Devon countryside. It’s a 60 acre farm located only 12 minutes away from Totnes station. They have a fully restored agricultural barn which is a stunning setting for a wedding reception. I pinch myself every time I get to visit and ‘work’ at such stunning wedding venues.

Kirsty and toms Outdoor humanist wedding

When Kirsty and Tom chose to have their wedding at Barons Hill Farm, Devon that was the first good decision. When they then chose me as their wedding videographer. That was a great decision!

Barons Hill Farm

I had never been to Barons Hill farm before and I wasn’t disappointed. It is an incredibly beautiful rustic farm venue in the heart of the Devon countryside. It’s a 60 acre farm located only 12 minutes away from Totnes station. They have a fully restored agricultural barn which is a stunning setting for a wedding reception. I pinch myself every time I get to visit and ‘work’ at such stunning wedding venues.

The humanist ceremony (MC’d by the fabulous Fan of FanFare ceremonies) was outdoors under a canopy of greenery. The guests were seated on straw bales (with blankets on top for comfort I might add) and New Daze, a gypo-hop duo from Paignton played Kirsty down the aisle as a Miss and then played her out of the aisle as a Mrs with her new hubby Tom while the hand dried flower confetti was chucked all over them.

The reception drinks were in the courtyard by the famous tractor and under a much needed marquee for shade (yes, it was one of those long and HOT summer days that we had plenty in Devon during June - August 2018) and the meal, speeches and dancing were held in the beautifully decorated barn.

Kirsty and Toms wedding

Kirsty, being a gin lover had collected many different bottles of gin for table numbers and filled the others with fairy lights and placed them all around the barn as decoration. Kirsty and her family did all of their own flowers too!  She did such a good job, I told her that she should consider going into wedding planning!

The delicious food was provided by The Dinner Service who looked after myself and the photographers Lucy James Photography very well, we managed to sit down with a stacked plate of food each - always well needed energy for us VOGS and TOGS during the wedding day.

Their first dance was a jolly one which kick started all of the dancing which carried on all night and Tom & Kirsty were even lifted up on peoples shoulders and paraded around.

What a cracking wedding. I would like more like this one please! That sunset was priceless and picture perfect.

Devon Seaside Wedding Video

On the day of Jade and Jamie's wedding, the weather could not have been better. Devon's Berry Head Hotel, Brixham set high up on the cliffs with stunning sea views was a like being on a Greek island. 30 degrees, flat blue sea and the best sunset I've seen so far this wedding season.

jade and jamie’s Seaside Wedding

On the day of Jade and Jamie's wedding, the weather could not have been better. Devon's Berry Head Hotel, Brixham set high up on the cliffs with stunning sea views was a like being on a Greek island.  30 degrees, flat blue sea and the best sunset I've seen so far this wedding season.

I got to spend the day (and share a cider with after we'd clocked off) with a local Brixham photographer Toby Lidstone, he was so easy to work with hopefully we'll have the opportunity to work on another wedding again soon.  Next time, the cider and black is on me!  We both shoot in a documentary and un-obtursive style so complimented each other perfectly.  Check out his work here Toby Lidstone Photography.

I arrived early to film the bridal and groom preparations with Jade and Jamies daughter Chloe keeping us all entertained with her magic stick and little Ralph, their 1 year old son looking super cute in braces, bow tie and knee socks.

After the ceremony, the guests were served pink prosecco and the children icecreams.  Everyone hung out on the private terrace over looking the sea before moving into the walled garden of the hotel for group shots and throwing the confetti.

The partying started after the first dance and carried on late into the night with 4 generations from the families sharing the dance floor from Chloe to her great nan.

Below are some stills from their film and a bit further down is Jade and Jamie's short highlights wedding video.

Contact me here to discuss the wedding videos I make and if you'd like to have a chat with me about filming your future special day. Stunning Country House Wedding - Reed Hall, Devon

Reed Hall, Exeter is a stunning grade 2 listed mansion in the grounds of Exeter University used for weddings and corporate events. Venetia and Jonny had an elegant winter wedding and I was delighted to be the wedding videographer.

Venetia & Jonny contacted me just over a week before their wedding and as you can see from their highlights vid below, I'm so glad that they did and that I was available.

About Reed Hall Wedding Venue, Exeter

It was a beautiful wedding at a venue on my doorstep that until then, I didn't even know existed. Reed Hall, Exeter is a stunning grade 2 listed mansion in the grounds of Exeter University used for weddings and corporate events. I love having the opportunity to visit all of the beautiful wedding venues Devon and the South West has to offer and Reed Hall is one of those. 300 acres of gardens with heritage trees and moss covered stone steps which felt a world away from the city centre which is actually only a stones throw away.

It was an elegant winter wedding which I was delighted to be a part of. In fact, I loved the images so much that the eagle eyed of you will notice that they are currently the backdrop for the home page on my website.

*PLEASE NOTE* The images below are stills from Venetia & Jonny's film therefore will never be as crisp as photography images.

They were an absolute dream to work for and their first dance was epic. Venetia, an accomplished ballet dancer, just couldn't resist a few spins and lifts and Jonny was only too happy to oblige. But see for yourselves, their highlight video is at the bottom of the stills below.

Deer Park, Honiton, Devon

Kerry & Ben’s winter wedding was at the stunning Deer Park, Devon. As you can see from the highlight vid and the stills below, the gardens are well maintained in winter and the inside is nice and cosy.  It's a proper English country grand house, just perfect for weddings.

Kerry & Ben’s winter wedding

Kerry and Ben were one of those couples that found me via google. We didn't know each other.  No one had recommended me to them.  So when I had a notification of contact from Kerry via my website I was pleasantly surprised.

They were from up North and holidayed in Shaldon, Devon (just across the river from where I live) so before booking me, we decided to meet and chat all things wedding over tea and cake in the Clipper Cafe

They had seen some of my videos and liked my natural style of filming.  Neither of them feel particularity comfortable in front of the camera so they wanted me to disappear into the background to enable them to relax and not feel at all awkward.

Their winter wedding was at the stunning Deer Park, Devon. As you can see from the highlight vid and the stills below, the gardens are well maintained in winter and the inside is nice and cosy.  It's a proper English country grand house, just perfect for weddings.

We had a touch of rain, but it did not dampen the spirits.  Kerry and Ben carried on regardless with the help of her bridesmaids carrying the umbrellas!

Deer Park is a stunning, and award winning, wedding venue located in East Devon. You can take over the country house and gardens, have an indoor or outdoor ceremony and eat amazing food made from the produce in their own walled garden. Humber Barn, Devon - Wedding Extravaganza

Humber Barn was a lambing shed and is now a completely refurbished stunning wedding venue located in South Devon. I was invited to showcase my wedding videos at their wedding extravaganza!

About Humber Barn

Humber Barn is located in Bishopsteignton in South Devon, just a 30 minute drive from Exeter. This beautiful Devon wedding venue is close to the stunning south Devon coastline and popular beach locations like Shaldon and Dawlish, and just a short drive to the edge of Dartmoor National Park.

Humber Barn was originally a lambing shed but it’s been beautifully restored with weddings in mind. They can cater for as few as 2 guests, for more intimate weddings, or up to 250, for those who want all their friends and family to attend their special day. As it’s a working farm they use as much of their own produce as possible to create a wedding feast fit for a King and Queen. If additional produce is needed they focus on local suppliers to support the local community.

If you’re a country girl or boy at heart a barn wedding is something very special and Humber Barn is well worth considering.

Read about a Devon Farm Wedding at Humber Barn that I was privileged to be the wedding videographer at.

humber barn wedding extravaganza

Recently, I was fortunate enough to be asked to have a stall at Humber Barn's first wedding showcase to play some of my wedding videos.

I, and other handpicked local wedding suppliers, were set up inside the newly refurbished barn. We were showing off our stuff and chatting to couples as they arrived, while the kids rushed outside to play in the vintage fairground installed by The Prop Factory and burn off energy on the inflatables supplied by Mane Events.

After a couple of hours, (and cake from MaD Cakes) I set some of my wedding highlights to play on a loop and took my camera outside to film some of the fun.  Here's a little vid of how it went....
