small wedding

A small wedding generally describes up to around 50 guests, any more than that and it’s becoming a more traditional sized wedding. A small wedding requires slightly less planning than a traditional wedding but there’s still lots to think about and organise. Small weddings mean you focus on inviting the people that mean the most to you, rather than feeling obliged to invite your parents friends or even your work colleagues. Obviously, if your parents are paying then you might have to compromise and let them invite a few people.

why choose a small wedding?

Traditional weddings are not for everyone. They require a lot of planning and sometimes a lot of stress if you feel you have to invite everyone you know, from the cousin you’ve only met once to work colleagues or your boss who you barely tolerate.

With a small wedding it’s a lot easier to find a venue to cater for fewer people and the bride and groom can focus on each other knowing that only their very closest friends and family are there to share the day with them.

Planning your small wedding

If you’re planning where to have a small wedding, Devon is a great choice. Not only do you have stunning beaches and Dartmoor but award winning venues and restaurants too.

What I offer as a videographer for small weddings

Small weddings mean that I won’t miss any of the action. I’ll still blend in and your guests will be able to act naturally and forget I’m there so they can enjoy the day as much as you do. Your wedding film will be a way to remember your vows and the special day you’re sharing with your nearest and dearest. You can also share it with your extended family and overseas friends who couldn’t be there, so they don’t feel they’ve missed out too much. Sound good? great venues for small weddings in devon

One of my favourite venues in Devon for small weddings is Brickhouse Vineyard which specialises in intimate weddings.

It’s right on my doorstep, so after your time at Brickhouse, I can always take you on a separate portrait session in the stunning surrounding areas that I know so well. We have forests, fields and even beaches if you’re happy to go a little further. Devon has so many options for beautiful elopement weddings.

If you want to have an even more intimate wedding, have you considered an elopement or a micro wedding with fewer guests?
