New business cards
Wedding videography doesn’t really lend it’s self to print and magazine adverts. Us wedding filmers don’t naturally gather images of our work that can then be used to promote ourselves. But having said that, while I’m re-watching the footage I’ve gathered from the weddings I film, I’m constantly taking stills from the film to use for my own advertising.
In fact, all of the images on my instagram are stills from film. Can you tell? The technology in my super dupa mirrorless SONY camera is amazing and I think just as good (for viewing on phones anyway) as the pictures taken when on photo mode.
I use the left side of my brain as a wedding videographer most of the time. During filming, my right side is looking out for well composed shots and good use of light, but my left side takes over and I can’t really describe how I shoot, I just do. It just comes naturally. That’s my wedding film style I guess, what I think just looks good.
It was the same when designing my new business cards. I simply used my 3 favourite images from 2018 weddings. I don’t have a marketing degree, I have no idea if these are “good” wedding images, I just liked them.
